Mindful Eating
Ask yourself these questions:...
Mindful Eating
Ask yourself these questions:
-Do I tend to stop eating when I am full? (It takes 20 mins for the food to hit your stomach and tell the brain that you are full).
-Eat when I am hungry, rather than emotional? (Eating whilst in a stressed or emotional state will pile pounds on around the middle, giving you an apple shape).
-Not “pick” at my food?
-Taste each bite before reaching for the next?
-Think about how nourishing food is for my body?
-Be non-judgemental of myself when I accidentally overeat? (It happens, realise it and move on. Don't beat yourself up).
-Not multitask when I eat: when I eat, just eat?
-Be able to leave some food on my plate if I don’t want it? (This is hard when most of us were brought up with being told to finish everything on our plates. Break old habits).
-Eat slowly, chewing each bite? (The action of chewing prepares the gut for food by releasing digestive enzymes in preparation).
-Recognise when I slip into mindless eating (zoned out, popping food into my mouth)?
If you answered yes to any of these then you are probably sailing through life mindlessly eating. I suggest to ask you quiz yourself before eating, to ensure your consumption is mindful, not mindless. You will reap the benefits from this by being slimmer, having less digestive issues, more energy and de-stressing.
